The CCFS is a strong core credential for food safety professionals who work to assure food safety of human food by managing or evaluating food facilities and food manufacturing processes. This is accomplished by identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, observing and training staff, assessing the physical facility, and assuring corrective measures are implemented to control hazards and prevent foodborne illnesses. In essence this course introduces concepts of preventative controls along with other hazard mitigation strategies. The credential course will cover concepts as described in the job task analysis. The course utilizes different learning modalities from critical thinking to small group breakouts and videos to reinforce the participants' learning experience.
